Did India Strike Pak Nuclear Facility?

Break10 Web Desk: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially denied reports suggesting that it targeted Pakistan’s nuclear facilities during recent military operations. Speculations had arisen about potential strikes on the Kirana Hills region known for housing underground nuclear infrastructure. However, the IAF clarified that their operations were confined to specific military targets, notably the Nur Khan and Sargodha airbases, and did not involve any nuclear sites.

Latest satellite images revealed that Malir Cantonment, located in Karachi, was also hit.

Since the ceasefire was announce, claims have surfaced on social media stating that a United States Department of Energy-Nuclear Emergency Support aircraft (B-350 AMS) landed in Pakistan. Reports of the aircraft flying over Pakistan further fuelled speculations that a radioactive leak may have happened after the alleged strike.

When probed, Air Marshal AK Bharti, director general of air operations (IAF), categorically denied hitting a Pak nuclear facility, in a press briefing held on 12 May. Bharti denied having any clue that Kirana Hills housed a nuclear facility.

The aircraft was reportedly turned over to Pakistan Army Aviation in 2010. Pakistan does operate a B-350 variant. There is currently no information on whether the Pakistani aircraft was mistaken for the US B-350 AMS.
