Mother Thrashes Son and Girlfriend Over Chowmein Date
Break10 Web Desk: A bizarre incident at Ram Gopal intersection in Kanpur left bystanders stunned yesterday evening, when a woman thrashed her son and his girlfriend when she spotted the two secretly eating chowmein. The son, Rohit, had told his mother Sushila that he was going somewhere else. He allegedly left home on his bike to meet his girlfriend. Sushila spotted the couple eating chowmein at a roadside stall.
Alarmed after noticing his mother, Rohit tried to escape but Sushila promptly caught him. She then starting hitting him with her slippers. When the girlfriend intervened, Rohit’s mother allegedly grabbed her hair and dragged her. Rohit tried to defend his girlfriend in vain. Bystanders reportedly called his father, Shivkaran, who arrived soon and joined his wife in assaulting the duo.

The confrontation, captured by a passers-by on video, quickly went viral on social media, sparking a mix of outrage and ridicule. Some locals criticised the public violence, while others sided with the mother, citing conservative family values.
Local vendors who witnessed the incident described it as shocking and embarrassing. One vendor said that the couple were just sharing chowmein quietly, and the next moment, a woman came charging and started hitting them.
