Asaduddin Owaisi Slams Bilawal Bhutto

Break10 Web Desk: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has slammed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, after he made provocative remarks over India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

Addressing a public meeting on 25 April, Bilawal said, “The Indus is ours and will remain ours. Either our water will flow through it, or their blood,” in a fiery reaction to New Delhi’s decision to suspend the IWT. Bilawal’s comment came days after a terror attack in Pahalgam on 22 April left 25 Indian tourists and a local Kashmiri dead, sparking global outrage.

Owaisi, addressing a public meeting at Prabhani in Maharashtra, dismissed Bilawal’s comments as immature and dangerous. He sharply criticized Bilawal’s understanding of history and politics. Bilawal served as Pakistan’s foreign affairs minister until 2023 and continues to be part of the ruling coalition.

“Forget about such childish talk,” Owaisi said, adding, “Bilawal should first reflect on his own family’s history before threatening anyone. His grandfather was overthrown and executed. His mother was assassinated by terrorists on his own soil. Before speaking about blood, he should remember who spilled the blood of his own family members.”

Owaisi also warned that such statements from Pakistani leaders would only isolate their country further on the global stage.

Owaisi emphasised that India’s decision to suspend the IWT was “measured and justified” given Pakistan’s repeated failure to dismantle terror networks operating from its soil. He also called upon the Indian government to maintain a firm stand internationally, ensuring that terror sponsors are held accountable.

Bilawal’s grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was executed following a military coup, while mother Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in 2007 during a political rally. The latter incident is widely attributed to extremist forces within Pakistan.
